TOP 10 RADIOHEAD RECKONER REMIXES

In September with the release of another 'In Rainbows' track looming, Radiohead launched its second remix project of the year. The British quintet gave people the chance to remix, 'Reckoner'. Each of the song’s constituent parts, 'stems', were made available for download on iTunes and Garageband. The remixes would then be uploaded on a site and voted for by the public. Radiohead claiming that they 'would listen to the best remixes'.

As well as my entry, there were also some other very cool remixes submitted. However I don't feel they were fairly ranked on the radioheadremix site.

So to put a little bit of logic back into the universe I have put together my own 'Top 10' Radiohead Reckoner Remix list! Observe:

The whole experience was great fun, and I can now see how people would make a career out of this kind of thing. Julianna Barwick's remix is truly fantastic and I feel it deserves 1st place on my list. I came 66th out of 1664.
(a bad year for remixes, a good year for beer).

Ed-dead impressed, really atmospheric. Kind of reminded me of Boards of Canada-ever listen to them?-but a bit more gritty. And it's a great title 'Clipd Wings'. I gave you a vote

Wow. What can I say - truly remarkable. The timbre and texture of the sounds are masterfully interwoven with the original elements to create something utterly discombobulating and entirely unpretentious. It’s gutsy and defies any attempt to reduce it to the sum of its parts. Like a hen night in Huddersfield.
At no time does it feel obvious or derivative but instead layered and nuanced and evocative of something else. It’s playful and resilient, and at the same time speaks volumes of the futility of life. Like a kitten in a tumble dryer. You've made the song your own and, dare I say it, even improved upon the original.
Congratulations. Sterling work. Five Star.
However, it’s not *the* best remix on the site and so I’m afraid it won’t be getting my vote. :(
